Track: Making SharePoint Work,

This presentation will illustrate how to set up SharePoint sites, libraries and content types to best support both collaboration and records management.
James will give simple rules for showing how to maximise the strengths of SharePoint (the ability to easily sort libraries by columns of metadata) whilst minimising the burden on end-users of filling out metadata fields.
He will show how to give enough consistency in document libraries to allow for records management disciplines to be applied. He will identify SharePoint’s killer weakness when it comes to records management, and strategies to reduce its impact. He will help you decide whether or not its worth you setting up a SharePoint records centre and whether or not its worth you using a SharePoint records management plug in.
