Session: Successfully engaging your internal and external audiences
Track: Community Management & The Networked Organisation,
With the project named “Part of the pack,” the City of Horsens builds its social media presence on a slogan well known among the target audience, as well as on the base of numerous decentralised social media efforts. This approach has prepared the organisation for the speed and transparency expected on today’s social platforms, and ensures that social media supports the City’s vision.
But is there one true winning strategy? Discuss learnings, advantages and pitfalls in letting an entire corporation embrace social media with an organisation that has a defined hub-and-spoke approach.
This session will cover:
- the advantages and pitfalls of a bottom-up social media strategy
- how to go about social media as an organisational development project
- insights from the journey of building a corporate social media concept on top of numerous existing smaller communities – and involving the users a long the way
- hands on tips and tricks for taking a large organisation’s decentralised social media efforts to the next levelThe session is for anyone working with or curious about social media in large organisations.
